Subsequently Rev. Anderson served congregations in various church positions including choir director, band member, Sunday school teacher, Youth Minister and Contemporary Worship Leader.
In conjunction with her spiritual development Rev. Anderson enjoyed careers as a full-time musician, teacher and symphony conductor. She taught band, chorus, and conducted the Bellevue Youth Symphony and was the assistant conductor of Thalia Symphony.

“I feel blessed every day to be here at Christ Church Unity, doing what I love with people I love and respect.”
I have been attending Unity for years, specifically CCU since 2008. I joined as a member back in 2010. My spiritual journey has been enriched beyond measure, and my life is now flowing even more, with Spirit, on so many levels……I am truly blessed.
After 30 years of working as an accountant, business manager, and CPA, I left the business world for a career that feeds my soul at CCU! Unity has been the single most transformative force in my spiritual life. Through prayer and meditation I have a deep and expansive view of my connection with God, my fellow man, and the universe. By going within I found the courage to move beyond my old comfort zone. By giving I have learned how to truly receive.
With the support of Spirit and this community, I went from sitting in back pews to serving as an Usher, a Board Member, the Board President, a Platform Person, and now Executive Director. I am honored to use my years of experience to serve this congregation.

My father always told me, “Ask questions until it makes sense to you.” CCU has provided a safe and supportive environment that actually encourages questions! I want to foster the same natural curiosity in our children, instilling in them that they are enough, just as they are, and that their passions are their greatest calling. Incorporating Truth principles into their daily lives and interactions will change their lives, the lives of everyone they touch, and will change the world. And so it is!
I have been attending CCU since the spring of 2010 and have been a member of CCU for the past 4 years, my search for a church home started after high school and ended with my discovery of CCU and the Unity movement. I hold this place as one of the most sacred places I go every week.
I find truth in the Upanishads, Tao Te Ching, Bhagavad Gita, Dhammapada, a whole lot of Rumi, and Hafiz. And now, after being here awhile, I can read the Bible again too. After growing up in a church where I felt scared as a little kid – the theology, their conception of God that I took on – I finally found a place where I am spiritually safe. I want to care for that. Thank you for being my spiritual home.
Orlando has been my home since 1994 when I relocated from San Francisco for a job promotion and to meet my wife, Holly. Although, we were married at CCU later that year, we didn’t start attending CCU regularly and become members until July of 2009. I had always said that the only way I’m ever going to church is if the service inspires and uplifts me. Well CCU does just that.
I’ve been a musician and worshipper for over 25 years, and have been blessed to travel the world while empowering and equipping this generation of church musicians. I have a great big heart for the work of the Spirit in the lives of people, and I love using music to help all of us express our praises, joys, triumphs, and tears. At CCU, I found folks who are kind, compassionate, and eager to continue our spiritual journey together. I felt at home right away!
Before relocating to Orlando and joining the CCU staff, I served as Music Director and Producer for several national musical projects and conferences, including the Consuming Worship series with Lillenas Publishing. I was also blessed to serve as the Vice President for Academics at Visible Music College in Memphis, Tennessee.
I received my Master of Music in Historical Musicology and Ethnomusicology at the University of Memphis, where I wrote “The Comforter Has Come: Music in the Azusa Street Revival,” which takes a look at the music of the 1906 revival which birthed a new Spirit-led movement in America.
Board Vice President
I never felt totally connected to my church or religion until I found Christ Church Unity, a little over five years ago. The messages of Reverend Cynthia Alice and the music have always been the drawing force for me and helped me to connect with my spirituality and realize the difference between a religion and a spiritual connection for the improvement of my soul’s growth.
I joined CCU in February of 2014, and as a result of my connection to CCU Orlando, I am growing deeply in effectiveness and understanding of myself. I feel fully supported and accepted by the welcoming community of CCU.
Christ Church Unity has transformed my life as a congregant, Prayer Chaplain and now as a Ministerial student and board member. My soul growth has been supported by CCU fully from staff to members. Each of us is Divine energy that is seeking to be experienced consciously in everything and everyone, CCU has called this forth in me. After many years of searching for a spiritual home, I came upon CCU and Unity Principles. I have been coming to CCU for over five years, and CCU has provided me with transforming teachings that speak to all truths with love.
In my professional work and spiritual, Christ Church Unity has provided tools through workshops and Sunday Service that have helped me to tap into and discover the experience of the spark of Divinity in myself and others. I am honored to serve on the board and support CCU staff, it’s members and our community in our journey as One, Love & Light Rene`.
